Together for the development of our world

The Verein Liweitari in Switzerland and the Freundeskreis Liweitari in Germany work together to give disadvantaged people in developing countries the opportunity to realize their potential and actively contribute to the development and shaping of their country. In doing so, we focus on helping people to help themselves in order to enable them to lead independent, self-reliant lives and achieve a higher standard of living in the long term.

When selecting projects, it is important to us that a sustainable improvement in the local situation is guaranteed. In order to help as effectively as possible, we have decided to focus our aid on the Liweitari programs in Benin:

• Vocational school “Centre de Formation Liweitari” (CFL)
• Agricultural school “Ecole Pratique d’Agriculture Liweitari” (EPAL)
• Primary and elementary school “Ecole Primaire Liweitari” (EPL)

In order to realize our mission based on our values and convictions, we pursue the following goals:

• To provide the necessary materials for a high level of education.
• – Education for all social classes in poor countries, regardless of origin or gender.
• – Helping to create an infrastructure that favors the progress and development of poor regions.
• – Promotion of independent, innovative work.
• – Responsible use of natural resources and improving the food supply in poor countries through regional products.
• – Drawing attention to problems in poor countries of the world, to the responsibility of each individual towards their fellow human beings and to the responsible and considerate use of resources and human labor.
